A Pitch for A Dilo

A huge thank you to Shein for bringing A Dilo to us and for setting the project out so clearly. We at Hollywood Indie Festival are cheering you on as you continue to create. The pitch follows below.

What is the central conflict and unique selling point of your project?

This is the story of A DILO, the surviving fighter of many conflicts who is down trodden by the military system. War is a business where criminal minds prosper, while pure souls are crushed and diminished. The corrupt military elite use their soldiers as fodder for their personal purposes, greed and glory. A DILO has been a Peshmerga fighter since he was 13. In spite his long service and countless heroics he was overlooked for promotions. The documentary also shows the massive and noxious chasm between the military hierarchy and the war fodder called soldiers, "Those starving dogs…"

Who is the ideal viewer for this project, and which existing films/series is it most comparable to?

This is a timeless documented event like the fictional All Quiet on the Western Front. It demonstrates to young men and women what military and war are like. As for veterans, it brings about their utmost nightmares which they lived through but won't talk about.

Is the project fully completed, or are you currently seeking distribution, finishing funds, or representation?

The documentary was completed in 2020 and won a number of awards in Europe and the US. It has been ready for distribution ever since.
