The central conflict is greed turning to an evil that grows with madness and destroys itself. Its usp is nostalgia for the gothic films of yesteryear.

The ideal viewers for the project would be the legions of fans who recall the films of Christopher Lee: the definitive Count Dracula; Peter Cushing: as Frankenstein and the many characters he created.

I grew up watching Hammer Films and clearly recall seeing The Quatermass Xperiment (‘It came from Outer Space’ in the US) and subsequently their Horror Films that changed the genre forever. They also defined the career I wished to follow. It was therefore heart-warming when the impresario, John Gore resurrected the company in 2023, producing new Hammer Films, restoring and re-releasing their heritage of past films.

It therefore seemed appropriate to create a pastiche: a Gothic Hammer Film, copying their unique style; a kind of thank you for their influence on my own film making.

An Ancient Evil has an open ending, allowing for a sequel if it proved popular. It has been successful at several film festivals so far and it would be useful to gain a wider distribution and follow up with its sequel.

I do not seek funds but could benefit from representation. Since completing An Ancient Evil, I have produced ‘The Hands of Time’, the story of a Jewish family coping and suffering from Fascist racism in 1927, a film that is proving to be successful at many film festivals. I am about to release ‘Black Inheritance’ a dark comedic drama set on an English farm becoming embroiled in off-shore banking, gambling and harvesting.
