A Pitch for White Rabbit

A huge thank you to Leo for bringing White Rabbit to us and for setting the project out so clearly. We at Hollywood Indie Festival are cheering you on as you continue to create. The pitch follows below.

The Core Pitch

After a séance and a violent car crash, a guilt ridden young woman trapped between life and death must confront the supernatural embodiment of her past before she can return to the living.

Psychological supernatural horror: White Rabbit blends intimate psychological drama with supernatural horror. The fear does not come from monsters alone, but from guilt, memory and the feeling that the past is still alive. Tone: dark, tense and emotional, a story of grief, trauma and control, with an atmosphere that feels dreamlike, claustrophobic and increasingly uncanny.

After a séance with friends, Alana survives a violent car crash and wakes in a strange hospital room. There, the mysterious Trickster tells her she is caught between life and death and must choose whether to return to the living or join those waiting below.

Forced to relive the fire that killed her mother, Alana sees the boundaries between trauma, guilt and the supernatural begin to collapse. To survive, she must confront the hold her mother still has over her and decide whether she is ready to let go of the past and choose life.

As Alana is pulled back into the traumatic night that shaped her life, she must confront the possibility that her greatest prison is not the supernatural world around her, but the guilt she has carried ever since. White Rabbit combines psychological horror with a liminal afterlife story, using the Trickster, the recurring rabbit motif and a shifting hospital reality to blur the line between trauma, memory and the supernatural.

Target Audience & Comps

The core audience is viewers aged 18 to 35 who are drawn to psychological and supernatural horror with a strong emotional core. The film is aimed at audiences who enjoy genre stories where horror reflects an internal struggle rather than relying mainly on violence or jump scares.

Comparable titles include Talk to Me for its link between grief and supernatural ritual, The Night House for its exploration of loss and unstable reality, and The Babadook for turning psychological pain into an external threat.

The Vision & Urgency

I wanted to explore how guilt can become a place we live in, and how the hardest choice may be between remaining trapped in the past and allowing ourselves to move beyond it.

Horror felt like the right language because it makes internal emotion physical and dangerous. In White Rabbit, Alana's memories, her mother and the Trickster gradually become impossible to separate.

The film speaks to audiences drawn to horror with a strong emotional core, where grief, trauma and identity shape the fear. Designed as a contained short with a distinctive visual world, White Rabbit is both achievable to produce and well suited to the international genre and festival circuit.

I come to filmmaking first as an actor, so I am always interested in what a character is feeling beneath the surface. Alongside my acting work, I am completing a Master's degree in Screenwriting at the University of Strasbourg and developing my own projects as a writer and filmmaker. Working across French, English and German speaking environments has shaped the way I think about stories and audiences. With White Rabbit, I wanted to create something intimate, unsettling and emotionally grounded, while keeping the film visually strong and achievable to produce. For me, this project is a chance to bring together acting, writing and filmmaking in one story.

Current Status & Goals

White Rabbit is a completed short screenplay in development, with production planned for autumn 2027. It has already been recognized as a Semi Finalist at the Hollywood Indie Festival, and I am now looking to build the right team around the project.

I am seeking producers and production partners who can help move the film toward production, alongside potential financing and festival strategy support. I am also open to producers interested in attaching themselves to the project. My goal is to develop White Rabbit toward production while remaining creatively involved.

Format: Short film. Genre: Psychological supernatural horror. Estimated runtime: 15 minutes. Primary locations: Apartment, car, hospital, cellar. Target production: Autumn 2027. Status: Screenplay complete, development underway.
