A Pitch for DANCE: Generations
A huge thank you to Ivan for bringing DANCE: Generations to us and for setting the project out so clearly. We at Hollywood Indie Festival are cheering you on as you continue to create. The pitch follows below.
A dance class for seniors in Catalonia decides to create an extraordinary show for the 93-year-old mother of their Paris-born dance teacher. Their journey to France to perform for her turns into a life-affirming, inspirational voyage of discovery.
The ideal viewer for this project is women and men ages 40 and older and is comparable to the films, The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (2011) and Buena Vista Social Club (1999).
In this film, a dance class for seniors in Catalonia, Spain decides to create an extravaganza of a show. They are creating it for the 93 year old mother of their Parisian born dance teacher. Their journey to France to perform for her turns into a life-affirming, inspirational voyage of discovery. This film poses the question: What can we learn from those who came before us? The joy of dancing is one thing. The ability to endure is another. And how to embrace life in all its fullness: love, pain, happiness, sorrow. From our elders, we can learn how to thrive.
Currently on the film festival circuit. Our goal is distribution on Amazon Prime.
