A Pitch for Americana

A huge thank you to Dale for bringing Americana to us and for setting the project out so clearly. We at Hollywood Indie Festival are cheering you on as you continue to create. The pitch follows below.

The Core Pitch

As the United States struggles to heal in the years after a supervillain’s presidency, two female superheroes—one idealistic and from the city, the other hardened and from the heartland—must learn to trust each other on a mission to rural America while they race to rescue a new President from domestic extremists who have taken her hostage.

Target Audience & Comps

Target audience is action and thriller fans, fans of political intrigue, filmgoers aged 15-65, and comic book fans. Comps are Unbreakable, The Incredibles, In the Line of Fire, Chronicle, and Captain America: Winter Soldier.

The Vision & Urgency

As the whole world knows, Americans are too divided right now. “Americana” is a grounded, optimistic, character-forward action thriller with budget flexibility and franchise potential. It’s focused on bringing people together, bridging the urban and rural divide, and showcasing the best of what America can be. If properly produced, this story could help inspire people all over the world who have serious differences to stop talking at each other and start talking with each other.

Current Status & Goals

Seeking financing (full production). Attached producers include Joshua Looby and Nolan Harrison.
