Meet the Creator

A huge thank you to MP Soldo for these thoughtful answers and for giving us a glimpse behind the scenes of your work. We at Hollywood Indie Festival are cheering you on as you continue to create. Enjoy the interview below!

What is the central conflict and unique selling point of your project?

A disfigured musician, haunted by the loss of the woman he never stopped loving, is pulled into a raw, on-camera interview that unfolds through music and memory, forcing him to relive the defining moments of his past. As buried memories resurface, he must choose between holding onto his loss or embracing the love that shaped him—and finally moving forward.

Who is the ideal viewer for this project, and which existing films/series is it most comparable to?

The film is aimed at adult audiences drawn to emotionally resonant, character-driven dramas with a strong musical undercurrent. It aligns with films such as A Star Is BornCODA, and Manchester by the Sea, appealing to viewers who connect with stories of love, loss, and personal transformation grounded in authenticity.

What was the primary inspiration behind this story, and why is now the right time for the world to see it?

The story was inspired by a simple but powerful idea: that the people we love never truly leave us—they shape who we become and live on through us. I wanted to explore how memory, music, and love intertwine to help us make sense of loss and find a way forward. In a time when so many people are navigating grief, identity, and connection, this story feels especially relevant—it offers a grounded, emotional reminder that even in loss, the love we carry is what allows us to let go and move forward.

Is the project fully completed, or are you currently seeking distribution, finishing funds, or representation?

Golden Slumbers is a completed feature screenplay with recognition from multiple international competitions. I am seeking representation and production partners to move the project into development and bring it to a wider audience.
