Meet the Creator
A huge thank you to MP Soldo for these thoughtful answers and for giving us a glimpse behind the scenes of your work. We at Hollywood Indie Festival are cheering you on as you continue to create. Enjoy the interview below!
What is the central conflict and unique selling point of your project?
Years after Charlie Bucket inherited Willy Wonka’s factory, its wonder has faded as an AI-driven competitor moves to replace imagination with mass-produced perfection—threatening to end the Wonka legacy for good. Inspired by a troubled local boy who still believes in the magic of Wonka, Charlie must rediscover the factory’s purpose, reignite his workforce, and restore its heart before it’s lost forever.
Who is the ideal viewer for this project, and which existing films/series is it most comparable to?
This film targets audiences who grew up with Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory and are drawn to legacy stories that carry timeless themes into a contemporary world. It blends the heart and imagination of Wonka with the emotional resonance of Christopher Robin, appealing to both nostalgic adults and families seeking meaningful, imaginative storytelling that balances wonder with grounded, real-world stakes.
What was the primary inspiration behind this story, and why is now the right time for the world to see it?
The story was inspired by the idea that even the most magical legacies can fade if they’re not nurtured. It explores what happens when wonder is replaced by convenience—and how rediscovering that sense of awe can reconnect us to who we are. In a time when technology increasingly shapes our world, this film offers a hopeful reminder that imagination, empathy, and human touch still matter.
Is the project fully completed, or are you currently seeking distribution, finishing funds, or representation?
The screenplay for Charlie’s Chocolate Factory is complete and fully polished, with early recognition as a finalist in an international screenplay competition. I am seeking representation and production partners to move the project into development.
