When nine-year-old Alex discovers LENS, a lost AI prototype capable of showing breathtaking visions of possible realities, she forms an unexpected bond with it—only to become the target of ruthless corporate agents determined to recover their technology. Blending the emotional heart and adventure of classic 1980s Amblin-era science fiction with the possibilities of contemporary generative filmmaking, LENS is ultimately a story about empathy, human connection, and whether technology will help us build a better future or accelerate our demise.

LENS is aimed at sci-fi and adventure audiences across teens and adults, particularly viewers drawn to emotionally grounded, high-concept stories with a sense of wonder. Tonally and thematically, it sits in the tradition of E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial and Black Mirror, while bringing those Spielberg/Amblin-era sensibilities into a contemporary story about artificial intelligence, digital isolation, and the future of human connection.

LENS grew out of a paradox I see everywhere: we have never been more technologically connected, yet genuine human connection and empathy feel increasingly scarce. I wanted to tell that story through the eyes of a child who befriends an AI entity and discovers that compassion—not technology—ultimately gives us the ability to change our future. My short film arrives at a unique moment in cinema, as generative AI emerges as a new creative medium; I wanted to show that, when guided by human authorship, these new tools can tell emotionally resonant stories.

LENS is fully completed. It's currently on its 2026 international festival circuit, where it has already received multiple selections, finalist placements, nominations, and awards. I am currently seeking distribution and licensing opportunities, as well as relationships with distributors, platforms, and industry partners interested in innovative short and long-form production and AI-assisted filmmaking.
